On this occasion, Ewa Landowska and I were invited by Marek Cecula to take part in a very interesting project commemorating this jubilee.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Project \u201cFeast of Words\u201d, prepared by Modus Design and the Polish \u0106miel\u00f3w Porcelain Factory, involved the creation of an artistic installation that combined the art of handwritten calligraphy with ceramics. The project itself was born in cooperation with Culture.pl <a href=\"https:\/\/www.intercultural-reflections.de\/character-t\/index.html\">https:\/\/www.intercultural-reflections.de\/character-t\/index.html<\/a> , a flagship brand of the Adam Mickiewicz Institute in Warsaw, whose main goal is to promote Polish culture around the world.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the aesthetics of Eastern art and the beauty of classical arabesque, our calligraphy projects were inspired by the art of lettering and various European hands. The result is a four-metre-long by two-metre-wide installation. The project consisted of 100 ceramic plates exhibiting 23 hand-calligraphed patterns, which were transferred to the porcelain using screen printing. The project was completed with the manual application of gilded decoration.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The installation was presented in 2014 in Istanbul as part of the Istanbul Design Biennial at the exhibition \u201cPolska In Between. The Polish Design Presentation\u201d. The exhibition was a broad presentation of contemporary Polish design including products, graphics, services (design thinking), public space, food design, design for children, and conceptual activities.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Feast of Words team consisted of Polish calligraphy artists Ewa Landowska and Barbara Bodziony, chronicler and artistic book designer Rados\u0142aw Nowakowski, and the curator of the \u201cFeast of Words\u201d project, Marek Cecula.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/youtu.be\/wj-OQHlEyXQ<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In 2014, we celebrated the 600th anniversary of Polish-Turkish diplomatic relations.
